Meet Dr. Bonds

Nearly 45 years ago, I walked into a new dental office in my hometown of Tawas City, Michigan, looking for a job.  To my surprise, I got a job cleaning the office after hours.  I had a keen interest in the medical-dental field and being around all the neat things found in a dental office, I found this job fascinating.  I was allowed to read the dental textbooks and learn how all the instruments were used.  I eventually would do lab work for the office, as well as sterilizing instruments.  Then one day, my mentor, Dr. Mollard asked if I would assist him.  I jumped at the chance.  I was grateful for the opportunity to be included in treating patients.  I knew I could do this as a career and from that day on, I worked to become the best dentist I could be.

After graduating from high school with honors, I went to Central Michigan University and, in l979 I obtained my degree in applied arts and science.  My degree is in biology and chemistry.  I am also a graduate of CMU's prestigious University Honors program.

I received my dental degree in l983 from the University of Detroit-School of Dentistry.  I am a member of Delta Sigma Delta and S.C.A.D.A. (a society of student research clinicians).  While attending, I was also a student research assistant in the Department of human anatomy and Physiology.  I was also the editor of the school newspaper.

I am a published researcher in the dental field as well as a dental product evaluator.

Over the years, I have never stopped being grateful for the opportunity to help people with their dental problems.  I take this profession very seriously and I value the trust that each patient has given me over the years.  I have grown with them and their families.

If I have learned anything thus far in my career, it is that success is measured by the lives you have helped and the trust you have earned from the people who have sought your care.  To that end, I have tried to make dental care as comfortable as I can.  I have always given honest evaluations and given each patient options when available while trying to work within their budgets.

It has been a long journey to get where I am today, filled with struggles and successes.  At the end of the day, I am truly thankful for my patients and the part they play in my life as a dental care provider.
